Mr. Justin Bankey
Hello, my name is Justin Bankey. This is my first year at Highland Elementary, and I get to be part of Highland Elementary as the Dean of Students and Instructional Coach. I am going into my 20th year of education, 19 of them in Garfield Re-2 at Cactus Valley Elementary. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be able to be part of this wonderful school and community, and I am really looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and community of Highland Elementary.
I have a wonderful family with a lovely and fun wife, Jamie, two rambunctious (at times shy) girls: Sophia (2nd grade) and Regina (preschool). During the summer you might have seen me at the Rifle pool as one of the managers of Rifle Metro Pool. I enjoy my time with my family, sports (I am a two-time state championship referee in football), time with friends, movies, long walks on beaches, and just to laugh and have fun. I am currently working on my master's degree, and I was a finalist for the Colorado Teacher of the Year in 2020. I believe in the potential of every child, every day, and I know this staff is vested in your children's education and well-being every day... because: We Can, We Will!
